The installation 5.5706° S, 12.1976° E Sedimentary Myths addresses global challenges of decarbonisation and decolonisation, while honoring Cabinda, Angola. Located in the Arsenale’s Food, Agriculture, and Climate Change Special Projects, it explores the links between climate change, land use, and food production. Cabinda, home to both the Bakongo people and major oil reserves, highlights the paradoxes of extraction and ecological harm. The exhibition blends cartography, archives, and poetry to examine the effects of extraction on land and people, offering new insights into African and Cabindan identity.
